Fallen leaves in autumn: Art rediscovered as a therapeutic pursuit

Fallen leaves in autumn: Art rediscovered as a therapeutic pursuit

“Art is the meeting ground of the world inside and the world outside.” – Elinor Ulman

Art remained a well-loved hobby for many years. Life went on as usual till she lost her father unexpectedly in her early adulthood. This brought about a major shift inside her because he had been an integral part of her life. Life suddenly seemed incomplete, blank and directionless. The loss could never be filled but some solace came in the form of art.

The journey started with her first work in her adult life, a graphite sketch of her father. She considers it to be one of her best works till date and it is now placed on a wall that overlooks her studio.

Realizing the power of healing in painting, she went on to create some artwork for a local art dealer and loved the journey. Life however, took over again and she immersed herself in a corporate career while pursuing art only in leisure time.
